COLLABORATIONS
A Multipronged Arts Enterprise:
Mothership NYC (est. 2005) in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, is a multidisciplinary artist collective and presentation/residency space where an international crew of artists live and work.
Last Frontier NYC (est. 2014) is Captain Sol’s painting studio, a huge warehouse loft located a few blocks away below the Kingsland Wildflowers rooftop gardens (est. 2016) @ Broadway Stages. In addition to the two sister venues Mothership NYC-Last Frontier NYC, Sol also founded and heads the 501c3 Noosphere Arts (est. 2010), aka Noo Arts.
Originally a Manhattan gallery for artist colleagues from elsewhere, this organization now serves as arts producer & presenter on the outdoor stages surrounding Kingsland Wildflowers. With a special focus on systems thinking (cf. long-time collaborator Fritjof Capra), our multidisciplinary program-ming is shaped by a team of international creatives whose backgrounds blend the arts and sciences. As of 2026, the nonprofit also hosts programming at Noo Arts House @Governors Island.

IN THE AIR is a multidisciplinary collaboration between visual artists Sol Kjøk & Peter Max-Jakobsen and performance artists Katy Gunn & Autumn Kioti. In connection with the second chapter of this ongoing international series, IN THE AIR: New York at Denise Bibro Fine Arts in Chelsea, NYC, June 2-July 2, 2016, the artist group reached out to the scientist, educator, activist, and author Fritjof Capra, whose fundamental philosophical-scientific tenet that everything is interconnected reflects the essence of their artwork.
On July 9, 2016, during Capra’s residency at the international artists’ collective Mothership.NYC, creative minds across several fields came together at Last Frontier NYC in Greenpoint, Brooklyn for a special evening of sharing and exchange of ideas around this topic:

Using vocal, physical, and aerial elements, Autumn and Katy create sacred space in which they explore the depths of identity, reflecting on those things that connect us as collective beings and define us as individuals. Together they ask, where do I/you end, where do you/I begin?
Fritjof Capra, PhD: The Science of Leonardo
A slide presentation on Leonardo da Vinci’s investigations of the natural world showing that the artist applied the empirical method a century before Galileo. Capra argues that Leonardo was the first systems thinker and that he created a unique synthesis of art, science, and design.

In the fall of 2015, six artists came together to create a unique art experience in Greenpoint, Brooklyn:
an immersive live installation of sound, movement, images, and forms.
WHISPERING VOICES: a Ritual for our Time is our way of exploring our interconnectedness as human beings,
touching the elusive source that links us all, and out of which everything we know and experience arises and returns.
